Motor cycling biking & hiking

Blackwater Castle is located within 10 miles of the Ballyhoura Mountains where you will find the largest mountain bike trail network of it’s kind in Ireland. 98 km of trails including forest road climbs, tight twisty singletrack with loads of ups and downs, board walk, tight turns and technical rocky bits are guaranteed to leave you smiling. The trails range from the moderate 6 km Greenwood loop to the demanding Castlepook loop, over 50 km in length. The Ballyhoura range is also ideal for hikers and if you wish we can organise guided tours and packed lunches for you.  Check out this video on the Irish Times home page as the Ballyhoura trails are in contention for The Best Place to Go Wild in Ireland.
